FILTON - Filton Avenue (north of A4174) Experimental Part-Time Southbound Bus Lane - STATUTORY NOTICE

The Council made an order the effect of which is to ‘open up’ the movement of vehicles as an Experimental Traffic Regulation Order outside the weekly peak periods (07:00-10:00 and 15:00- 19:00) Monday to Friday on the existing southbound bus lane of Filton Avenue between Conygre Grove and A4174 Station Road.

Have your say about the opening up of the existing southbound bus lane on Filton Avenue heading towards the A4174 Station Road outside of peak periods. The trial and its consultation will start from 26th October 2020 with a 6 month period for any person to make comments and submit objections, stating on what grounds you are objecting to the measures being put in place indefinitely.

Comments and Objections will be accepted from the 26 October 2020 to 26 April 2021

The council will in due course consider all submissions and other information collected during the trial before making a decision whether to make the change permanent. This will happen within 18 months of commencement.

Please view the documents that may be downloaded using the links below, before responding.

Comments must be sent to us in writing after the measures are in place, and should preferably be submitted using the Experimental Traffic Order online questionnaire which will be available from 26 October 2020 to 26 April 2021.

Please include reasons for any comments you make against any decision to make an order for the indefinite continuation of this scheme.   Comments in support of the scheme and your reasons for making them are also invited.

Alternatively you respond by post or email by writing  comments on a Statutory Order response form which may be downloaded, and which can then be sent to us using the contact details on the form.

Please also note that all representations received may be considered in public by the council and that the substance of any representation together with the name and address of the person making it could become available for public inspection.

The part time bus lane on Filton Avenue will remain in place for the duration of the experimental traffic order, which is a maximum of eighteen months from commencement.

If you have any questions that are not answered by the online scheme information before submitting a response , you can request assistance by email or telephone using the contact details provided below.

Please register in order to respond to this consultation and to be updated as the project progressed.

At the end of the six month objection period copies of all objections and comments received in respect of this matter will be forwarded to the Director of Environment and Community Services for investigation and for consideration as to whether or not the traffic measure and legal order should be continued indefinitely or abandoned.  Should there be a variation to the order the six month objection period will restart, but in any case the decision will be made within 18 months of commencement.

Marking a consultation as relevant to a particular audience indicates that it may be of special relevance to people within that group. It doesn't, however, mean that other groups wont find the consultation of interest - we welcome responses from everybody.
For example, education issues may be of particular interest to Parents & Guardians, and so will be shown to people searching the system for parenting issues, but the views of others (eg: Business, Faith Groups) are also relevant.
