The Council proposes to make an order that will:-

a) prohibit vehicles waiting at any time in lengths of Adelante Close, Bakers Ground, Castle Court, County Way, Halls Garden, Hunts Ground, Kings Drive, Manor Place, Newbrick Road, Riviera Way, Simmonds View, Star Avenue, Trevelyan Walk and Voyager Close, Stoke Gifford;

b) restrict vehicles waiting between the hours of 9am and 5pm, Monday to Saturday (inclusive) 4 hours, no return within 6 hours in lengths of Simmonds View, Stoke Gifford; and

c) vary further the South Gloucestershire Council (Southern Brooks Area) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting) (Consolidation) Order 2012, in so far as it relates to the lengths of road specified in item a) and item b) above, the provisions of which will be bought forward into the new order.

Full details of the proposals are contained in the draft order.  If you would like to see a copy of the draft order, a map, any order to be varied/revoked and a statement of the Council's reasons for making the order, you may do so by viewing the documents section of this consultation.

Due to the Covid-19 emergency restrictions, the safe and preferred option to access documents is by means of the consultation pages.

On 2 December 2021 the Director of Environment and Community Services acting under Delegated Authority considered the objections and comments received in response to the advertisement of the above proposed traffic order. After carefully considering these objections together with the comments the following decision was taken:

  1. The local members and officers see value in progressing the proposed waiting restriction review. It is therefore recommended that the proposed Various Roads, Stoke Gifford - Phase 4A Waiting Restrictions scheme should be implemented as advertised, with the exception of the sites described within the conclusion section of this report.
  2. That the Head of Legal Governance and Democratic Services be authorised to seal the Traffic Regulation Orders.
  3. That the objectors are informed accordingly.

The Director of Environment and Community Services Decision relating to this matter may be viewed on the documents pages of this consultation.

The order will be made in due course, when we know when the measures will be implemented.   Accordingly, a public notice will appear in the local newspaper shortly after the order is made.

Marking a consultation as relevant to a particular audience indicates that it may be of special relevance to people within that group. It doesn't, however, mean that other groups wont find the consultation of interest - we welcome responses from everybody.
For example, education issues may be of particular interest to Parents & Guardians, and so will be shown to people searching the system for parenting issues, but the views of others (eg: Business, Faith Groups) are also relevant.
