Almondsbury C of E Primary School - Proposed 20mph speed limit

South Gloucestershire Council made a resolution in September 2013 to ensure that, as far as practicable, all schools in South Gloucestershire are covered by a 20mph speed limit. This approach is in line with guidance from the Government, which is encouraging local authorities to introduce 20mph speed limits or zones in residential areas being used by people on foot or bicycle.

Funding has been secured for a 20mph speed limit scheme in the vicinity of Almondsbury C of E Primary School through the Local Transport Plan.

The purpose of the scheme is to reduce traffic speeds in the vicinity of Almondsbury C of E Primary School, which will make walking and cycling to school more attractive.

The proposed scheme is to reduce the speed limit from 30 mph to 20 mph in the vicinity of Almondsbury C of E School.

The following roads are affected by this scheme:

  • Chestermaster Close
  • Church Road
  • Church View
  • Court View Close
  • Forest Hills
  • Glebe Field
  • Hollow Road
  • Knole Close
  • Lower Court Road
  • Sundays Hill

Marking a consultation as relevant to a particular audience indicates that it may be of special relevance to people within that group. It doesn't, however, mean that other groups wont find the consultation of interest - we welcome responses from everybody.
For example, education issues may be of particular interest to Parents & Guardians, and so will be shown to people searching the system for parenting issues, but the views of others (eg: Business, Faith Groups) are also relevant.
