Acton Turville - B4040/B4039 - Casualty Reduction Route Action

In the last 3 years (November 2007 - end October 2010*) there have been 9 reported injury accidents on the whole of the B4040/B4039, 1 of which was fatal and 4 of which were serious accidents.

The following measures, which are intended to reduce the severity and number of accidents on the whole of the B4040/B4039 are proposed for introduction:-

  • Signing of lower speed limits
  • Vehicle activated 'Bend-Ahead' warning sign (Solar powered)

Subject to your comments, we hope to implement the scheme during the next (2011/12) financial year.

*These are provisional figures from the local police authority.

Marking a consultation as relevant to a particular audience indicates that it may be of special relevance to people within that group. It doesn't, however, mean that other groups wont find the consultation of interest - we welcome responses from everybody.
For example, education issues may be of particular interest to Parents & Guardians, and so will be shown to people searching the system for parenting issues, but the views of others (eg: Business, Faith Groups) are also relevant.
