Codrington,Westerleigh,Henfield - B4465(Westerleigh Road)and Nibley Lane, Yate - Casualty Reduction Route Action

In the last 3 years (January 2007 - end November 2010*) there have been 36 reported injury accidents on the whole of the B4465 (Westerleigh Road), 1 of which was fatal and 7 of which were serious accidents. Mean speed readings taken at seperate locations along the B4465 (Westerleigh Road) have been recorded between 36mph-43mph.

In the last 3 years (January 2007 - end October 2010) there have been 3 reported injury accidents on a section of Nibley Lane. Nibley Lane accident reduction proposals have been included alongside the B4465 (Westerleigh Road) route action.

The following measures are proposed on the whole of the B4465 (Westerleigh Road) and Nibley Lane:

  • Signing of lower speed limits
  • Introduction of new signing and warning measures
  • Introduction of new road markings

Subject to your comments, we hope to implement the scheme during the next (2011/12) financial year.

*These are provisional figures from the local police authority.
