Superfast Broadband State Aid Consultation for Wiltshire, South Gloucestershire and Swindon Local Authorities

The purpose of this consultation document is to share the understanding of the extent of existing broadband provision across Wiltshire, South Gloucestershire and Swindon and the known plans for the broadband market to provide superfast broadband services to these areas.

The consultation document sets out where it is currently known superfast broadband will be provided over the next 3 years, and where under State Aid rules, the councils can intervene to increase superfast broadband coverage.

The consultation document is intended to inform interested parties of our intention to progress a notification of State Aid.The document will be used to validate the proposed extent of the intervention areas and inform the project's State Aid notification and ongoing tender process.

It provides an opportunity for commercial operators to notify the councils of any formal plans for similar investment in the target areas over the next three years. Comments from residents and businesses are also welcome.
