Yate - Town Centre (Cabot Close) Proposed Waiting restrictions

Background of the scheme

Developer funding has been secured to review the current waiting restrictions in the Yate Town Centre, Yate.

Following the development of the Riverside Retail and Leisure Complex, and the introduction of limited parking within the shopping Centre car park, there has been an increase in all day parking taking place in residential streets which has caused access difficulties. Also concerns have been raised from residents living near to local primary schools about parking during the start and end of the school day.

Following meetings and site visits with the local Councillors, a consultation on proposals for Yate Town Centre was undertaken, a later request was submitted for Cabot Close to be included, and it is proposed to introduce new waiting restrictions which include:

  • No waiting at any time in Cabot Close on the approach to Scott Way.

The purpose of the scheme is to

restrict dangerous areas of parking whilst ensuring that there is adequate provision for visitors accessing the local shops and businesses without adversely affecting the local residents.

The proposed scheme is to

Introduce waiting restrictions to cover an area where traffic parking can reduce visibility, access and impact safety. The proposals include;

No Waiting at any time in Cabot Close on the approach to Scott Way

Please see the consultation documents/drawings for more information.

The drawings showing the proposals are available directly via the links on this page or in the consultation documents section below.

Marking a consultation as relevant to a particular audience indicates that it may be of special relevance to people within that group. It doesn't, however, mean that other groups wont find the consultation of interest - we welcome responses from everybody.
For example, education issues may be of particular interest to Parents & Guardians, and so will be shown to people searching the system for parenting issues, but the views of others (eg: Business, Faith Groups) are also relevant.
