STAPLE HILL - Church Road, Gloucester Road Junction Modification
Funding has been secured to introduce features at the junction between Church Road and Gloucester Road, Staple Hill to reduce vehicle speeds and aid pedestrians crossing.
Purpose of Scheme
To improve safety for pedestrians crossing Church Road by reducing vehicle speeds and road width.
- Build out the northern and southern footways of Church road at its junction with old Gloucester Road.
- Provide new pedestrian dropped kerbs in the buildouts on Church Road
- Extend the footway across Wiltshire Place to give pedestrians priority over vehicles accessing or exiting Wiltshire Place.
- To shift the existing bus stop further away from the junction between Church Road and Gloucester Road.
