Filton Roundabout Ring road widening.
In early 2014 the new Southmead hospital redevelopment is due to be opened to the public. The developers have acknowledged that this development will generate more traffic in the surrounding area as patients, visitors and employees travel to the hospital. To mitigate this, the developers have agreed to provide funding to improve capacity along parts of the ring road corridor that are most affected by the increased traffic.
Purpose of Scheme
The purpose of the scheme is to provide additional capacity at the junction of the A4174 ring road with theA38 Gloucester Road North(Filton Roundabout). The scheme involves widening the carriageway to provide an additional lane on the ring road westbound approach to the roundabout.
The following measures are proposed: -
- Widening of the ring road on the south side of the westbound approach to Filton Roundabout to provide 3 lanes at the traffic signals stop line where there are currently only 2.

|Consultation Topic||Local highways and transportation projects|
|Marking a consultation as relevant to a particular audience indicates that it may be of special relevance to people within that group. It doesn't, however, mean that other groups wont find the consultation of interest - we welcome responses from everybody.
For example, education issues may be of particular interest to Parents & Guardians, and so will be shown to people searching the system for parenting issues, but the views of others (eg: Business, Faith Groups) are also relevant.
|Target Audience||General public, Service users|
