Hempton Lane, Patchway - Waiting Restrictions

Over the past few years, local residents have contacted us to tell us about potential access diificulties to their properties and for emergency and delivery vehicles in the narrower parts of Hempton Lane.

We would like to help improve access for local residents and a scheme is now under way to review waiting restrictions in Hempton Lane. Last year, we sent out consultation letters and put the information online and in response, we received more than 60 individual comments. It is clear that there was no overall amjority view telling us what changes the residents would like us to make. However, the options under the last consultation did receive a consensus of agreement and at this stage these proposals will be taken forward for introduction at the present time.

As a result, we are now carrying out another consultation offering two further options and would welcome your choice on the returnable questionnaire that you as a resident of Hempton Lane and Atwell Drive have been sent.

Update : March 2012 #1

Following a public meeting held by Patchway Town Council in November 2011, there was overwhelming support from residents to progress a particular set of proposals and these now form the current scheme. However, an objection has been raised against any introduction of waiting restrictions by a non-resident of Hempton Lane and under the current consultation process, this objection must be investigated and taken to the Executive Mamber for Planning, Transport and Strategic Environment for their decision. This will take place in March 2012 after which an update will be posted as to the next stage.

Update : March 2012 #2

Following a meeting with the Executive Mamber for Planning, Transport and Strategic Environment on 8th March 2012, the decision was made to progress the scheme as outlined at the Patchway Town Council meeting in November last year. All outstanding objectors will now be contacted to this effect and arrangements are now being made for formal public advertisement of the proposals.

This consultation has now closed and we are analysing the results, which will be published here in due course.

Consultation Topic
  • Local highways and transportation projects
Marking a consultation as relevant to a particular audience indicates that it may be of special relevance to people within that group. It doesn't, however, mean that other groups wont find the consultation of interest - we welcome responses from everybody.
For example, education issues may be of particular interest to Parents & Guardians, and so will be shown to people searching the system for parenting issues, but the views of others (eg: Business, Faith Groups) are also relevant.
Target Audience
  • All residents
  • Internet users
  • Students
