PATCHWAY - A38 Gloucester Road and Shellmor Avenue - Proposed Prohibited Left Turn Order

The Council proposes to make an order prohibiting any vehicle travelling in a southerly direction in Gloucester Road from making a left turn into Shellmor Avenue.

Full details of the proposal, together with a plan, a statement of the Council's reasons for making the order and a copy of the draft order have been deposited at Patchway Public Library and may be seen free of charge during normal library opening hours.

The statutory period for representation has closed.  
The Planning, Environment and Strategic Environment Sub Committee met on 16 September 2012 to consider objections and comments received in response to the advertisement of the above matter.  After carefully considering these objections together with the comments the following decision was taken by the Committee: 
"1.        That the proposed left turn ban fromA38 Gloucester Road intoShellmor Avenue, Patchway (Option 1 in the report) as publicly advertised be implemented.
2.          That the Head of Legal and Democratic Services seal the Traffic Regulation Order for the proposed left turn ban; and
3.          That the objectors be informed accordingly."

The order was made on 16 January 2013, and will become operative on 11 February 2013. A public notice will appear in the local Press shortly.
