CHIPPING SODBURY - FINCH ROAD - Protection of School Entrances - No Stopping Order - Raysfield School Area - STATUTORY NOTICE

The Council proposes to make an order prohibiting vehicles stopping in parts of Finch Road, Chipping Sodbury in the vicinity of Raysfield School.

Full details of the proposal, together with a plan, a statement of the Council's reasons for making the order, a copy of the draft order and any order(s) to be varied or revoked have been deposited at Yate One Stop Shop and Chipping Sodbury Public Library where they may be inspected, free of charge, during normal opening hours.

On 7 December 2017 the Director of Environment, Planning and Community Services acting under Delegated Authority considered the objections and comments received in response to the advertisement of the above proposed traffic order. After carefully considering these objections together with the comments the following decision was taken:

  1. Both the local members and officers see value in progressing the proposed school keep clear markings and waiting restrictions. It is therefore recommended that the proposed school keep clear markings and waiting restrictions in the vicinity of Raysfield Schools should be implemented as advertised.
  2. That the Head of Legal Governance and Democratic Services be authorised to seal the Traffic Regulation Orders.
  3. That the objectors are informed accordingly.

The Director of Environment and Community Services Decision relating to this matter may viewed online at The reasons for the decision are contained in the Director’s Report, a copy of which may be obtained by contacting 01454 868004.

The order is to be made on 5 February 2018 and will become operative on 19 February 2018.   Accordingly, a public notice will appear in the local newspaper shortly after the order is made.

Consultation Topic Local highways and transportation projects
Geographical area Chipping Sodbury
Marking a consultation as relevant to a particular audience indicates that it may be of special relevance to people within that group. It doesn't, however, mean that other groups wont find the consultation of interest - we welcome responses from everybody.
For example, education issues may be of particular interest to Parents & Guardians, and so will be shown to people searching the system for parenting issues, but the views of others (eg: Business, Faith Groups) are also relevant.
Target Audience All residents, General public
