FILTON – Church Road – Proposed Contra-Flow Cycle Lane – STATUTORY NOTICE

South Gloucestershire Council proposes to make an order to introduce a contra-flow cycle lane in a length of Church Road, Filton.

Full details of the proposal, together with a plan, a statement of the Council's reasons for making the order and a copy of the draft order have been deposited at Filton Public Library and may be seen free of charge during normal library opening hours.

On 30 January 2018 the Director of Environment, Planning and Community Services acting under Delegated Authority considered the objections and comments received in response to the advertisement of the above proposed traffic order. After carefully considering these objections together with the comments the following decision was taken:

  1. Both the local member and officers see value in progressing the proposed Contra-Flow cycle lane.  It is therefore recommended that the proposed Contra-Flow cycle lane on Church Road, Filton should be implemented as advertised.
  2. That the Head of Legal Governance and Democratic Services be authorised to seal the Traffic Regulation Order.
  3. That the objectors are informed accordingly.

The Director of Environment and Community Services Decision relating to this matter may be viewed online at www.southglos.gov.uk. The reasons for the decision are contained in the Director’s Report, a copy of which may be obtained by contacting 01454 868004.

The order is to be made on 18 April 2018 and will become operative on 30 April 2018.   Accordingly, a public notice will appear in the local newspaper shortly after the order is made.

Marking a consultation as relevant to a particular audience indicates that it may be of special relevance to people within that group. It doesn't, however, mean that other groups wont find the consultation of interest - we welcome responses from everybody.
For example, education issues may be of particular interest to Parents & Guardians, and so will be shown to people searching the system for parenting issues, but the views of others (eg: Business, Faith Groups) are also relevant.
