OLVESTON - Elberton Road and The Street area – Proposed amendments to Waiting Restrictions – STATUTORY NOTICE

The Council proposes to make an order a) prohibiting vehicles waiting at any time in parts of Elberton Road and The Street, Olveston, and b) limiting waiting between the hours of 8.30 am and 9.30 am and between the hours of 3 pm and 4 pm on Monday to Friday (inclusive) in a length of The Street, Olveston. 

Full details of the proposal, together with a plan, a statement of the Council's reasons for making the order, a copy of the draft order, and any order(s) to be varied or revoked have been deposited at Thornbury Public Library and may be inspected, free of charge, during normal library opening hours.

On 12 February 2020 the Director of Environment and Community Services acting under Delegated Authority considered the objections and comments received in response to the advertisement of the above proposed traffic order. After carefully considering these objections together with the comments the following decision was taken:

  1. Both the local members and officers see value in progressing the proposed at any time waiting restriction amendments on Elberton Road.
  2. Both local members and officers see the value in replacing the existing H bar (roughly outside Rock Ridge) with a section of no waiting at any time waiting restriction on The Street.
  3. It is, however, considered appropriate not to progress with the proposed additional part time waiting restrictions in The Street.
  4. That the Head of Legal Governance and Democratic Services be authorised to seal the Traffic Regulation Orders.
  5. That the objectors are informed accordingly.
