SOUNDWELL - SWEETS ROAD - Proposed removal and installation of road humps - St Stephens School area - STATUTORY NOTICE

The Council proposes to remove a set of two road humps and install a set of three road humps in the form of speed cushions in Sweets Road, Soundwell, in the vicinity of St Stephens School.

Full details of the proposal, together with a plan and a statement of the Council's reasons for proposing to install the measures have been deposited at Kingswood One Stop Shop and at Staple Hill Public Library and may be seen free of charge during normal opening hours.

On 24 March 2020 the Director of Environment and Community Services acting under Delegated Authority considered the objections and comments received in response to the advertisement of the above proposed traffic order. After carefully considering these objections together with the comments the following decision was taken:

  1. Both the local members and officers see value in progressing the zebra crossing and relocation of speed cushions. It is therefore recommended that the Lansdown Road zebra crossing scheme should be implemented as advertised.
  2. That the objectors are informed accordingly.

The Director of Environment and Community Services Decision relating to this matter may viewed in the documents section of this consultation.

It is anticipated the work will take place during July 2020 to allow the measures to be implemented.

Marking a consultation as relevant to a particular audience indicates that it may be of special relevance to people within that group. It doesn't, however, mean that other groups wont find the consultation of interest - we welcome responses from everybody.
For example, education issues may be of particular interest to Parents & Guardians, and so will be shown to people searching the system for parenting issues, but the views of others (eg: Business, Faith Groups) are also relevant.
