YATE - VARIOUS ROADS - Proposed school keep clear markings - Yate Town Centre area - STATUTORY NOTICE

The Council proposes to make an order which will protect areas marked with school entrance markings in accordance with the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016 in lengths of Broadway, Church Road, Firgrove Crescent and Melrose Avenue, Yate by prohibiting any vehicle stopping during the restricted hours which will be the hours shown on traffic signs placed at that location.

IMPORTANT

Due to the Covid-19 emergency restrictions, these documents cannot be placed on deposit at any public building.

On 25 September 2020 the Director of Environment and Community Services acting under Delegated Authority considered the objections and comments received in response to the advertisement of the proposed traffic order.  After carefully considering these objections together with the comments the following decision was taken:

1. That the Yate Town Centre Waiting Restrictions should be implemented with two amendments:-

    a) That the proposed single yellow lines in Broadway only operate Monday to Friday 8-10am and 2-4 pm; and

    b) That the proposed double yellows across the driveway of No 78 Firgrove Crescent be removed from the proposals leaving a 

        gap in the waiting restrictions of 5m.

2. That the Head of Legal Governance and Democratic Services be authorised to seal the Traffic Regulation Order.

3.  That objectors are informed accordingly.

The order is to be made on 13 January 2021 and will become operative on 13 April 2021. Accordingly, a public notice will appear in the local newspaper shortly after the order is made.
