Changes to bus services - 84 Wotton under Edge to Yate and 86 Wotton under Edge to Kingswood

The Council currently subsidises these services and is proposing some changes to their future delivery. Currently the 84 provides an hourly service Mon to Sat between Wotton under Edge and Yate via Charfield, Cromhall, Wickwar and Chipping Sodbury. The 86 provides a 2 hourly service Mon to Sat between Wotton under Edge and Kingswood via Hawkesbury, Chipping Sodbury, Yate, Emersons Green, Mangotsfield and Kingswood at a combined cost of £244,000.

The Council wants to amend how these services operate, the proposal sees

  • The 84 operating a circular route in an anti-clockwise direction (Wotton under Edge – Charfield – Cromhall – Wickwar – Chipping Sodbury – Yate – Chipping Sodbury – Horton – Hawkesbury Upton – Hillesley – Alderley – Wotton under Edge)
  • A new 85 service operating a circular route as above but in a clockwise direction.
  • The 86 operating between Yate and Longwell Green on an improved timetable.

Please note the proposal does not result in any loss of service and should provide a more frequent service. School journeys will still be provided, although times may alter slightly. Those to the North of Yate wanting to travel to Emersons Green, Mangotsfield, Kingswood will need to change at Yate bus Station.

Marking a consultation as relevant to a particular audience indicates that it may be of special relevance to people within that group. It doesn't, however, mean that other groups wont find the consultation of interest - we welcome responses from everybody.
For example, education issues may be of particular interest to Parents & Guardians, and so will be shown to people searching the system for parenting issues, but the views of others (eg: Business, Faith Groups) are also relevant.
